Private Voice, Piano & Acting Lessons
Private lessons are available to students in all stages of learning, from beginners to experienced performers. Lessons are a great way to get customized, one-on-one instruction from an expert, to prepare for an audition or performance, to hone your skills as an artist, or to simply learn more about the performing arts! Participants have the opportunity to perform in a recital for family and friends twice a year.
Encore offers private voice and piano lessons on a regular basis. Encore recommends voice lessons to students in 5th grade and above. Piano lessons are recommended to students in Kindergarten and above. No previous experience with music is necessary to enroll.
Encore also offers audition/monologue coaching upon request.
Typical lessons are one hour in length and occur once a week. In special cases, and after
consultation with the Registrar, a 30-minute lesson may be arranged.
Lessons are currently offered on weeknights and Saturdays. Our Registrar will work with you and with our teaching artists to coordinate a convenient lesson time. Should you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, arrangements can be made directly with your voice/piano teacher.
Tuition for private lessons is $65/hour. For voice and piano lessons, we ask that students commit to four or eight lessons at a time, which must be paid for in advance. When there is one lesson remaining in your package, Encore will contact you to see if you would like to re-enroll.
Monologue/audition coaching is offered on a per-lesson basis, rather than as part of a package. To discuss details, please contact our Registrar.
Scholarships are available for private lessons and for all of Encore’s education programs. To apply, please complete the form on our policies page.
All lessons last one hour, and are held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church (4000 Lorcom Ln. Arlington, VA 22207)
To schedule your lessons, or for any questions about Encore’s private lesson program, please contact Encore’s Registrar, Kelsey Meiklejohn, at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 703-548-1154.
Lessons must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance. If a student is a “no show” it will be counted against their remaining lessons.
