A small group of people help Jesus tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus’ life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus’ message of kindness, tolerance and love comes vibrantly to life in Encore Stage & Studio’s musical production of Godspell.

Prospero lives on an enchanted island with his daughter Miranda and his servants Ariel and Caliban. When a shipwreck leaves the King of Naples, his son, a group of sailors, and two zany mischief-makers stranded on the island, power struggles ensue, plots are hatched, a marriage is made, and magical forces intervene to ensure a just outcome for all involved. We recommend this production for ages 8 and older.
